Palm Beach State College has won the People’s Choice Award in the Florida College System category in the Florida Department of Education’s Statewide Welding & Fabrication Challenge for their welding student's striking eagle sculpture, Forged Freedom, created in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

Palm Beach State College welding students turned raw metal into a powerful symbol of freedom and patriotism.  As part of a statewide welding and fabrication competition held by the Florida Department of Education to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, a team of 11 PBSC welding students created “Forged Freedom,” a massive eagle sculpture representing the nation’s past, present and future. The sculpture stands 7 feet, 7 inches tall, spans 6 feet wide and weighs 325 pounds. Using plasma cutting and MIG welding techniques, students dedicated more than 350 hours over three weeks to complete the project.

Panther Prowl Motorcycle Rodeo

Palm Beach State College hosted South Florida’s only combined law enforcement and civilian motorcycle competition, the Panther Prowl Motorcycle Rodeo & Motorman Tribute for the fourth time March 25–28 at the 4.5-acre skid pad of PBSC’s Public Safety Training Center on the Lake Worth campus.
