Palm Beach State College names Dental and Health Innovation building for alumni Julie and John Kime

Palm Beach State College is strengthening its role as a workforce leader in healthcare education with the naming of its new $68 million Dental and Health Innovation building after alumni Julie and John Kime, whose latest legacy gift—one that will support the College for generations—builds on the Kimes’ generosity and commitment to student success.

Located on the Dennis P. Gallon Campus in Loxahatchee Groves, the four-story, 83,954-square-foot facility represents a major investment in training the next generation of healthcare professionals while expanding access to affordable dental services for residents in Palm Beach County’s rapidly growing western communities.

The Kimes have long invested in student scholarships, academic programs and campus resources. Their impact is already visible through the Julie and John Kime Library Learning Resource Center, which opened in 2022 as a hub for studying, collaboration and academic achievement.

Julie Kime, a Palm Beach State alumna, has also helped broaden access to education through initiatives such as the Julie Kime Hispanic Women Scholarship, creating new pathways for students to pursue careers and transform their futures.

“Julie and John have been steadfast friends of Palm Beach State College, and their support has made a meaningful and lasting impact on our institution,” said PBSC President Ava L. Parker, J.D. “Their commitment reflects what we value most at PBSC: when you invest in students, you invest in the future of our entire community.”

For Julie Kime, the recognition is deeply personal. “Standing on this campus means more to me than I can say. This is where my journey truly began,” she said. “John and I believe that every student deserves a chance — a chance to learn, a chance to grow and a chance to dream.”

The new Dental and Health Innovation building is designed to prepare students for high-demand careers in fields such as dental hygiene and surgical technology. It features advanced training tools including virtual reality labs and the Anatomage Table, a cutting-edge 3D anatomy visualization system that enhances hands-on learning.

In addition to serving students, the facility will benefit the broader community through its on-site dental training and treatment center, which offers services to the public while giving students real-world clinical experience.
